Southern Sweet Tea - Revised (Sugar-Free!)
Courtesy of AllSugar-Free.com, a Free Recipe Exchange for All Sugar-Free Recipes!I've been making gallons of sweet tea for my family every week, for almost two decades. It's just a Southern tradition, and once you've become accustomed to it it's just about impossible to give up! That is, until someone in your family is diagnosed with high blood sugar or diabetes.

Now we make our 'sweet tea' with Splenda® (it measures cup by cup for regular sugar) and it's simply delightful. I hope you'll enjoy it too, especially if you're a sweet tea addict like we are! :o)
Here's my recipe...
Ingredients:
4-5 family-size tea bags (Luizianne® or Lipton® is fine!)
1 small pot of water
3/4 c. Splenda® (more or less as desired)
Directions:
Bring water in small pot to a boil over high-heat, remove from heat and add 4-5 family size tea bags (or 8-10 regular size). Cover and steep tea on the stove for a couple of hours. Pour tea into gallon size pitcher and run additional water over tea bags in pot, until you have enough water to fill the pitcher. Add the Splenda® and stir until blended well. Serve chilled or over ice. Makes 1 gallon of delicious sweet tea!* * *
